Oh God, What Have We Done??: Father!Belphegor Headcanons
You know, I was going to write this for Simeon, and I still might, but Belphie lost the Dad poll and I must right an injustice when I see one.
Content: Somehow incredibly fluffy with Big Happy Family vibes; mostly meme fodder
~♡♡♡~
I refuse to believe this could have been planned. No person in their right mind is going to look at Belphie and go, "Oh yeah. That's some real good father material right there!" Belphegor wouldn't even say that to himself.
Either a condom broke, a pill was skipped, or some orphaned demon child imprinted on these two like a baby duck and followed them home. Either way, NO ONE wanted this, but it's happening.
Belphegor's reaction to realizing that he's a Dad:
Everyone else's reaction to realizing Belphegor is a Dad:
Beel's reaction to realizing that he is an Uncle:
But seriously though, Beel is the only one with any kind of unwavering faith that his twin can pull this off. Never doubts him for a second and never will.
Everybody else though....? Well. Satan is already cleaning out the local libraries of their parenting books, Asmo's searching Mommy blogs, and Lucifer keeps staring off into the middle distance like he's questioning every single life decision that has brought them to this point. Fear is rampant, despair is on high.
The biggest worry is that Belphegor is going to leave MC more or less high and dry. He's not exactly known to be a "go-getter" when times are tough and though he has his soft side, sure, no one would call it particularly "nurturing."
Diavolo and Barbs weren't even sure if they should announce the news to the realm. Of course one of the Lords of the Hell having an offspring is a pretty big deal but under these circumstances...
What if it was treated like a joke by the populous? Painting a target for ridicule on Belphie and MC's backs had to be the LAST thing anybody wanted...
Even Belphegor, in a pretty heartbreaking moment of self-reflection, tried to convince Beel to take over for him instead. Not to shirk the responsibility, but out of pure acknowledgement that he would make the better father between them...
Beel, of course, was not having this for a second. And you know what? Everyone would do well to listen to the wisdom of Beel! Because he knew instinctively something that everyone else had conveniently forgotten-
No matter the circumstances, Belphie's kid was a part of the family. And that meant that they, the MC, and even Belphie himself were never going to be doing this alone.
And that fact was proven quickly enough when every member of the family, extended or otherwise, stepped up to lend a hand.
Levi and Mammon took it on themselves to go out and buy whatever baby items they needed and seemingly came in every day with handfuls upon handfuls of bottles, baby gates, socket covers, and TOYS (literally so many toys. They bought more toys than diapers).
Lucifer and Asmo set to work on renovating a nursery/kid's room almost immediately. The eldest had the plans drafted within a week of the news while Asmo buried MC and Belphie in paint swatches and magazine catalogs for the walls and decor.
Satan roped Beel in to help him train Belphegor to be a little less lazy and more attentive to the MC and the baby. Even going so far as to curse a baby monitor to sound like fog horn to him and only him if the kid began to cry.
The angels chipped in with gifts and free offers to babysit (mostly from Simeon, but Luke is already eyeing the little one like a baby sibling and is protective as such).
Solomon uh... Well Solomon offered to cook MC whatever they wanted through the pregnancy at first, but when that got a HARD veto he switched to just giving HoL a touch of magic baby proofing. Nobody can figure out how to get under the kitchen sink anymore, but that means the baby won't either!
And, of course, despite Belphegor not liking him much, Diavolo is probably the BEST psudeo-uncle a kid could have. He's already sent Barbatos out to curate the best baby food and Lucifer is training him on how to hold infants properly so he can take turns being babysitter with Simeon.
As a father... Belphie isn't perfect. He did whine more than a few times about no longer being the "baby" everyone doted on. A couple times, he may even act just as childish as his kid...
But in the moments late at night when he's rocking them in his arms, dead tired from being awake for hours but determined to make sure they sleep first...
Or when he's walking around the House with them tucked to his chest because they'll never cry if he holds them.
How he pays attention to every little thing that interests them so he can craft each of their dreams more exciting than the last...
Or how he, more than any of the others, knows what a precious treasure it is to be with those you love since you never know when they'll be gone...
He'll do alright. With the love and support of everyone else, their child will have everything they need...
As long as they don't turn out as spoiled as he is 💀

@netflix
Greetings,
I am writing to you with hope in my heart, to implore you, from the bottom of my heart and with the utmost sincerity, to please reconsider your decision to cancel your critically acclaimed new show Dead Boy Detectives.
This show has touched a lot of people's hearts and souls, my own included. It has generated countless rave reviews, massive online buzz and an amazingly active and dedicated fan base that continues to grow.
This series has done something truly incredible and meaningful, and I think you have something remarkably special with Dead Boy Detectives. I have so many reasons why this show is worthy of your investment, faith, and more than worthy of a second season. In this letter, I will attempt to narrow it down and list a few of them.
Firstly, a fantastic foundation has already been laid down from the start with it's incredibly compelling and well-rounded characters. Each of them feels very nuanced, natural and whole in a way that succeeds in making them all widely relatable despite their distinct individuality and complex differences.
There is a rare kind of beauty to the way that these characters have all been written and then brought to life by the cast in such a genuine and heartfelt manner.
Secondly, the natural and loving way in which POC, women and queer people are represented is second to none.
You have an amazing example of a strong and powerful female lead in Crystal. She is layered and does her best to be better than she was in the past. She is realistically flawed and so resilient that it is impossible not to root for her. She is smart and empathetic, and puts in effort to understand her friends, even when they butt heads.
The fact that her powers can never truly be taken away and that she can always connect to them through herself and through the support and live of her female ancestors is a thoroughly wonderful detail that leaves you with a deep sense of hopefulness.
Niko, who is far from home and starts off all alone after losing her father, finds kinship and courage through the support of her friendships with Crystal, Edwin and Charles, and shows her unwavering strength through her continual acts of natural kindness. She is sharp and observant, and she utilises that yo be amazingly caring.
Charles' story is also incredibly relatable and meaningful. The way that he overcomes his painful history with his parents through kindness, and does this again and again, despite still dealing with so much trauma and hurt is astounding. I, and many others long to see his story at continue.
Now, Edwin and his relationship with his queer identity...
The way in which the queer representation has been handled in Dead Boy Detectives is leagues above the vast majority of other shows that share its target audience. It feels so authentic. Something which is unfortunately hard to come by, which this show pulls off spectacularly.
Edwin's personal journey with his sexuality is done with so much care and raw honesty that it is impossible not to appreciate everyone in the writers room who was responsible. George Rextrew's portrayal of Edwin in this aspect (and frankly all other aspects) was simply phenomenal. The way that he discovers more of himself through his relationships with his peers is done so incredibly well. Charles, Crystal, Niko, Monty and The Cat King all play a significant role on his self-discovery - be it directly or through showing their support - in a way that I am sure many of the queer viewers long for and relate to.
There are so, so many people who feel seen because of Dead Boy Detectives, myself among them, and that is something that is immensely and inherently valuable.
Furthermore, the realistically nuanced way in which the show depicts the characters dealing with different kinds of grief and trauma is unbelievably refreshing. To show each unique situation and natural, emotional and internal responses in a way so grounded in reality is a true achievement. One that every member of the cast and crew should be celebrated for. As someone who has experienced tremendous loss, I can confidently say that the way these things are depicted in the show is highly accurate and resonant.
Aside from these aspects, I am of the firm belief that timing and lack of appropriate promotion harmed the number of streams in its initial days of release. It was put out right before/during exam time from American viewers, meaning that all of the teens who might have been binge-watching, were stuck cramming for tests. Additionally, while I do think that focusing so much fantastic promotion and marketing on Tumblr was a stroke of genius, not matching that across other platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok was a gross oversight that significantly limited reach and harmed viewership.
All of this on consideration, please, please reconsider the cancellation. Dead Boy Detectives has so much potential and deserves a real chance to grow and succeed.
There are thousands of people who share my sentiments of devastation and disappointment, but also hope and massive amounts of love.
It is well evidenced that sharing this show has created a wonderful communuty and brought droves of people together. Drives which I am sure that you have seen sharing their sorrow, frustration, and their dedication across social media.
Saving Dead Boy Detectives is worthwhile and just makes sense at this point, especially given it's role as an extended part of your well-established hit IP The Sandman, and the current proximity to Halloween, when a show about ghosts will be so seasonally and culturally relevant.
I am begging you, alongside thousands of others to bring Dead Boy Detectives back for a Season 2. Please hear our voices and restore our faith in you as a platform.
It is not too late.
#SaveDeadBoyDetectives
Sincerely, one of countless dedicated fans.

Simon Riley, known to many as Ghost, was a highly skilled and fearless soldier. He had been through countless missions and battles, but there was one challenge that he faced with trepidation - starting a family. Simon had always been a lone wolf, focused on his duties as a soldier and never really letting anyone get close to him. But when he met you, everything changed.
You were different from anyone he had ever met before. Strong, independent, and yet somehow gentle and caring at the same time. Simon found himself drawn to you in a way that he had never experienced before. And before long, the two of you fell deeply in love.
After a whirlwind romance, Simon and you decided to tie the knot. The wedding was a small and intimate affair, with only a few close friends and family members in attendance. But to Simon and you, it was perfect. As you exchanged vows and rings, you both knew in your hearts that you were meant to be together forever.
Now, as a married couple, Simon and you began to talk about starting a family. It was something that both of you wanted more than anything, but it also filled Simon with a sense of dread. He had spent so much of his life on the battlefield, surrounded by death and destruction, that the thought of bringing a child into that world made him anxious.
But you reassured him, holding his hand and looking into his eyes with unwavering love and support. "We will make a beautiful family, Simon," you whispered, your voice soft and soothing. "I know that you have fears, but we will face them together. And our child will be surrounded by love and happiness, I promise."
Simon looked at you, his heart swelling with emotion. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have you by his side. With a shaky smile, he nodded. "I trust you, my love. Let's do this."
And so, the two of you began the journey of trying to conceive a child. At first, it was a fun and exciting time, filled with passion and intimacy as you tried to create life together. But as the months went by and each pregnancy test came back negative, Simon's fears began to resurface.
He started to doubt himself, wondering if he was truly meant to be a father. But you never wavered in your belief in him, always there to hold him close and remind him of the love that you shared.
One night, as you lay in each other's arms after yet another unsuccessful attempt, Simon spoke up. "I'm scared, (Y/N). What if we never have a child? What if I'm not meant to be a father?"
You turned to him, your eyes filled with tears. "Simon, listen to me. We are in this together, no matter what. I love you more than anything, and I know that you will be an amazing father. We just have to keep trying, and never give up hope."
Simon felt a surge of love and determination in his heart as he looked at you. He knew that you were right. With a newfound sense of purpose, he kissed you deeply, pouring all of his love and passion into the moment.
And so, the two of you continued on your journey, never losing faith in each other or in the love that you shared. And one day, after many months of trying, you finally saw those two pink lines on the pregnancy test.
You both cried tears of joy as you held each other close, knowing that your dream of starting a family was finally coming true. And in that moment, Simon knew that he was ready to embrace this new chapter in his life, knowing that he had you by his side every step of the way.
As the months went by and your pregnancy progressed, Simon was the most attentive and loving husband you could have ever asked for. He showered you with affection and care, always making sure that you were comfortable and happy. The two of you spent hours talking about your hopes and dreams for your future child, eagerly anticipating the day that you would finally get to meet them.
And when the time finally came for you to give birth, Simon was by your side, holding your hand and whispering words of love and encouragement as you brought your child into the world. And as you held your precious baby in your arms for the first time, you knew that your family was complete.
Simon looked at you with tears in his eyes, his heart overflowing with love for you and your child. "Thank you, (Y/N)," he whispered. "Thank you for giving me the greatest gift of all."
And as you looked into his eyes, you knew that you were exactly where you were meant to be - in the arms of the man you loved more than anything, surrounded by a love that would last a lifetime.
And so, Simon and you embarked on this new chapter of your lives together, filled with joy, love, and the endless possibilities of the future. And as you watched your child grow, you knew that no matter what challenges life threw your way, as long as you had each other, you could conquer anything.

It sits so wrongly with me that fans of particular characters- if you've had any interaction with the wider fan base, you can probably guess who- will weaponize Shiro and Allura's trauma against them to paint them in an unflattering light.
Allura's prejudice against the Galra following the destruction of her home planet and attempted genocide of her people is meant to be a character flaw. She ultimately learns that not all Galra are as corrupt and bloodthirsty as Zarkon as a byproduct of Shiro's willingness to put his faith in Galra allies, even after everything that the Galra soldiers under Zarkon's command subjected him to, and willingly works alongside Kolivan and Antok, trusting them not to betray or harm her.
A teenaged genocide survivor having misgivings about members of the species that betrayed her father and annihilated her home world and her people's culture does not make her a "bitch". No matter how difficult it is to watch her be cold and mistrusting with Keith for the handful of episodes prior to her overcoming this trauma-induced flaw.
And, Shiro is not her equally prejudiced "attack dog" who is perfectly willing to turn on his closest friend on a dime, once it comes to light that said best friend shares the blood of the species that brutalized and attempted to break him.
A good chunk of the conflict in Shiro's Escape, an episode I'd wager most of this particular brand of fans tends to skip, is Allura and the rest of Team Voltron being at odds with Shiro over his implicit, unwavering trust in Ulaz.
If Shiro shared Allura's prejudice, or reinforced it, this tension between them never would have existed.
Do these fans just forget the hug that Shiro pulled Keith into the episode immediately following the "Keith is Half-Galra" reveal? The hug that took place in full view of everyone, including Allura?
Nor has Shiro ever been someone whose go-to response when his amygdala overfires is to flee, prioritizing his own safety over that of his teammates. Even when activated and having flashbacks, his immediate instinct is not flight, or fight, it's freeze.
He poses more of a risk to his own safety than anyone else's, and that's putting aside his propensity for sacrificing himself to give someone else a fighting chance.
Once again, I must reiterate that I am not the Fandom Police and people can write whatever they wish. I just hate how some fans feel that the only way to build their favorites up is to tear other characters down in a manner completely insensitive to trauma survivors who display some, perhaps less than "palatable", symptoms.
I've been online long enough to know that it's too much to expect character bashing to ever completely cease to exist. But, I do wish it would be tagged appropriately. Especially when it involves warping two genuinely good, innately self-sacrificing, and heroic characters who battle consistently not to allow their trauma to break them, to the point that they're unrecognizable, all while using the personal experiences that left them with their indelible scars as some sort of sick justification.
#Takashi Shirogane#Shiro#You're nothingness but shining and everywhere at once.#Allura#The Silver-Haired Princess and Her Silver-Haired Paladin.#Voltron: Legendary Defender#Meta.#VLD Meta.#I read a fic#yesterday#that left a particularly foul taste in my mouth and unsettled feeling in the pit of my stomach#so I'm ranting about it.#Everyday my desire to gatekeep characters from certain people until they're willing to put in the effort to understand them intensifies.

What Zevlor once was
Angst, whump, hurt/ no comfort, pstd, depression, self-loathing, loss of faith, hopelessness.
--------------------------------------------
Zevlor once was a proud man. He was a member of the Hellriders, the elite calvary unit of the city of Elturel— who could rival a large nation's entire army, alone. He had worked his way up its ranks and, despite the discrimination he faced as a tiefling, earned the prestigious rank of Commander.
Zevlor once was a paladin. He was a weapon of the gods, wielded to protect those who could not protect themselves. He was steadfast in his righteous convictions of duty, honor, loyalty, and bravery.
Zevlor once was an optimist. He believed that good would always triumph over evil. He believed that most people were, at their core, decent— that even the criminals he apprehended had a spark of good in them, the ability to change for the better.
Zevlor once was a strong man, both physically and mentally. He used people's ignorant prejudices to fuel his desire to prove them wrong. The horrors he witnessed in the line of duty reinforced his unwavering belief in his fight for justice. The Hells themselves didn't break him, they inspired him; showing him that even bitter, long-standing, enemies could work together towards the common good.
Zevlor once was a better man.
But that was before the city, his city, the place he called home, exiled him. That was before the people who he'd spent nearly fourty years unwaveringly serving turned on him. That was before he, and all the other tieflings, were blamed for Elturel's fall into Avernus and subsequently banished. That was before he was stripped of his Hellrider status, before he watched his comrads, his family, coldly cast him aside.
Being forcefully ousted from the city didn't break his paladin oath— it shattered his very faith itself.
The connection to his god was gone. Zevlor had been abandoned by the one thing he'd been certain he would always have— his devotion. Now a cold, dark, emptiness replaced the burning zeal which had once brightly shined within him— any remaining embers of his former faith had been stomped out in the Shadowlands.
His fellow tieflings, his people, who he'd sworn to protect— had died because of him. Because he listened to the Absolute's siren song. Because he believed the promises of a false god.
Because he was man who was struggling to keep himself together.
Now Zevlor is a broken man. A man whose hands shake so badly that he can't even hold a bowl of soup without dropping it. A man who has screaming night terrors whenever he tries to sleep. A man who stutters and stammers when he manages to speak.
Now Zevlor had truly lost everything.
Now Zevlor was nothing more than a sad, frail, old man.
He wondered if he had ever truly been anything more.
Even IF he had been, he dared not to hope that he could ever be more again.
If these past few months had taught Zevlor anything, it was that hope would only make the inevitable disappointment hurt all the more.
If these past few months had taught Zevlor anything, it was that he wasn't even a fraction of the man that he had once thought he was.

I like hearing ppl infodump n u seem like a cool bean. would u be willing to talk abt shou from mp100(?) a bit with just a lil context added in for someone who only has a passing familiarity with the show. side note: plural mob be based
SLAMS DOWN ON TABLE. Before I get into this I want to say this is not a Serizawa hate post. Because I am reading what I wrote and it sounds like it at points. It is not. I was writing what I think Shou feels about him. I love Serizawa and I love them being friends, this is me talking about Shou having complicated feelings about his trauma. Okay? Okay.
Okay okay so. Shou is the son of a guy who tried to take over the world, and his entire life was spent trying to stop him. And then someone did. Someone stopped Claw. His dad got locked up. And Shous whole life had been built around trying to stop him, he had zero time for anything else other than occasionally visiting his mom (who left when he was a kid. We don't know what happened. We don't know if she tried to take Shou with or not. All we know is that Shou kept her presence hidden from his dad. We don't know how Shou feels about his mom or if he lives with her after his dad gets locked up. We know he had adults who were also rebelling in claw (the organization his dad ran), and he seemed to trust them a lot. I like to imagine they're a weird family and like. I imagine there's some Shit there. I like to imagine at least one of them was kinda giving up on everything, not really caring one way or another about what happened to everyone because they're just. Done. But then this wide eyed idealist of a kid comes by and he wants to stop his dad, holy shit the boss has a kid, and the kid is taking all this on himself. Maybe they didn't think they could fix anything but they had to save this kid. Did they believe Toichiro could be stopped at all? What were they like? We don't know much about them. How many of them were just in it to protect the kid? In hopes that maybe that idealistic, weird little boy that stumbled over to them would come out of this still a good person? God. I'm sorry I'm emo about found family. Don't mind me.
And I'm just. Okay. Okay. I think so much about how we get to know what other claw members are up to after everything, but...not Shou. Besides in fan books and stage plays, we uh. We got very little. And that makes him very interesting to analyze.
I just. Always think about how Serizawa stopped Shou from hurting Toichiro and how Serizawa got a happier life. Does Shou ever resent Serizawa? I think so much about their potential claw dynamic. Maybe he was one of the few who was kind to him, but was so disgustingly *loyal* to his dad it made him feel sick to look at. Serizawa would bring him snacks if he looked upset but would always respond to any criticisms of his father with the same unwavering Faith in him. Serizawa would comfort him after he lost a training session, Serizawa shielded the man who hurt him the most. Serizawa was a victim, Serizawa turned a blind eye to him. He needed to save Serizawa, and Serizawa never saved him. Did he feel responsible for Serizawa?
I think he felt like it was his responsibility as Toichiro's son to be the one to stop him. He needed to save everyone. He needed to make things right. He wanted his dad to go back to being who he was before things got really bad. I feel like. At first, Toichiro was an okay dad. And that's why it hurt so bad when everything went to shit and he started being so fucking horrible. Because Shou knew he was fully fucking capable of not sucking and he CHOSE to treat them like this anyway. He couldn't recognize him. He was a stranger with his dad's face and he had no idea what he did. Did he ever think if he could just fix Toichiro his mom would come back? Everything would go back to normal if he could just make Toichiro be a good person again? How long did that thought last?
I just. I always think about how aimless Shou strikes me as being the few times we see him in season three. He doesn't know what to do now. He had this whole purpose and plan. And then it didn't work. He didn't stop his dad. Mob did. His dad's alive. His dad changed his mind, but he's arrested. His mom and dad aren't together. Everything feels like it's tied up in a neat little bow for everyone except for Shou.
Of course we know that's not the case, but Shou doesn't know. Shou doesn't know that Serizawa was fucking panicked about disobeying Reigen even when their lives depended on it, Shou doesn't know that Mob's haunted by that battle. So from his eyes, it's very likely that he thinks he's the only one who hasn't moved on.
He goes from being always so dramatic sounding in all his lines in s1 and 2 to in season three just sounding...so much less? I don't know how to describe it. He sounds so much less...well. Everything was over for him, y'know? He built his whole life around carefully avoiding his dad and saving everyone and being the hero and then. Everything's done, and he didn't have a plan for what he'd do after. It all seemed like the end of Everything, and that'd be it! Nothing after that. But it's all over and he still has to live. Now what? Now what does he do?
How is Serizawa a functioning adult with a JOB now? Minegeshi joined when they were a teenager, how are they just...okay now? How did everyone, EVERYONE else get to move on, but Shou couldn't? Everyone else got their nice little ending, and Shou has nowhere to go. Does he tell his mom everything? That his dad tried to kill him but suddenly decided fine okay murder is wrong now, not soon enough to never have done that to him? Does he ask if he can stay with her? Will his lackeys want anything to do with him? Will Ritsu Everything's done and nothing's over, not for Shou, but everyone just fucking moved on. Everyone seems to be a better person than him now. Everyone seems to be fine in a way Shou just isn't.
Not to get back on my Shou and Serizawa bullshit but. Do you ever think about Shou seeing him again. And having no fucking clue what to think. Serizawa is just ...fine now. Suddenly he's no longer the guy who trailed after his dad and did horrible things for his dad without a THOUGHT. Suddenly he's smart and responsible now. Suddenly he's soooo good now. Where was all that when he needed it? Where was this functional, kind guy when he was TWELVE and trying to stop fucking terrorists. Where was this guy he would've done ANYTHING to have on his side when he was trying to save everyone from the man who raised him. Where was he. Why did he change now. Why had EVERYONE changed now. Why was Minegeshi trying for Mob, not Shou. Why was Serizawa trying for Mob, not Shou. Why was Toichiro trying for Mob, not Shou. Why didn't he MATTER. Why had NO ONE cared that he was in hell, that he wanted things to be okay. What's that one line. "If [Serizawa/Toichiro] has truly changed, it means he was ALWAYS capable of change. It means that I just wasn't worth changing for." And like. Objectively that's not what happened, objectively there were other factors and Serizawa and Toichiro are on very different levels, but Shou is like. Barely thirteen. He's BARELY thirteen. He is a child and all he's gonna see is that nobody cared when he needed them to. And now he's lost and has no idea what to do and everyone's just fine. Like he didn't almost die. Like his dad didn't try to kill him. Like he wasn't in hell for twelve goddamn years. Like he hadn't tried to save everyone. He's thirteen. He's not handling this well.
I feel like he just. Has no clue how to be normal. He doesn't know who he is now. He doesn't know what to do. His whole life orbited around stopping his dad and now his dad is different and locked up and he can't see him all the time, and things were so much worse back then so why does everything feel worse now. He doesn't know who he is now. He doesn't know what he wants now. I think so much about he says hes never using his powers again. Is he just trying SO hard to be normal. That's what he decided he wants now. He wants to be a normal kid who has friends and that's the only way to do it. He didn't have a Reigen in his life who'd tell him like he told Mob that powers are just another attribute. Maybe one day he'll talk to his lackeys, and maybe they'll hold him and tell him that that's his choice but that his powers aren't a curse or a weapon, they're just a *trait.* Or maybe he won't. I don't know. It's just so fucking. God. Shou, man. Shou.
Maybe one day he comes to spirits and such for Ritsu and sees Serizawa. Maybe they fight. Maybe they don't. Maybe they'll talk. It's just. God. Shou has so many loose ends in his life. Is he just trying to leave claw behind by never using his powers again, like he might think everyone else did? He went from "I need to save the world" to "I need to be a normal person." Did he shave his hair to look normal or did he shave it after he had a long talk with a friend that made him reevaluate things. What happened to him. If he has the spirits and such crew still, maybe he'll end up realizing that his powers are just another part of him. Maybe he'll realize they're not a curse or another thing his dad shoved on him. God. Aughhh. Sorry for being ill about Shou and possibly ooc about him but. Aughh.
Once again this is not an anti Serizawa post. I love Serizawa. Shou however probably has some Issues and I like to address them and try to give him more closure. Because I love him. Again, sorry if this is ooc, I'm still trying to get a grasp on him. If anyone who has a better grasp on him wants to add anything PLEASE let me know. I do not fully understand this guy yet but I would love to try to

Luffy has an unwavering trust in his crew members and loved ones. During a battle with pirates/marines, he would have faith in your abilities to handle yourself.
He values teamwork and believes in the strength of unity. He would actively involve you in the crew’s battle strategy, seeking out your input and your ideas.
luffy respects your independence and allows you to fight in your own style. He would provide you the freedom to make your own decisions during battle as well as supporting your choices and offer assistance if needed. (you don't need it cause you're stronggggg lol)
Though Luffy respects your strength, he's still fiercely protective of you. If he senses any immediate danger or threat, he will quickly intervene to shield you from harm. Luffy’s instincts as a captain and boyfriend is always on high alert.
Zoro is fiercely protective of the one he cares about, including you. During a battle with Marines/pirates, he would prioritize your safety above all else. He would position himself between you and any immediate danger, ensuring you remain out of harm’s way.
Zoro is known for his tactical thinking and strategic mindset. While engaged in combat, he would give clear instructions to you, guiding you to a safe location or advising you on how to defend yourself if necessary. He trusts your abilities and encourages you to stay alert.
Zoro understands the intensity of battles and the potential fear it can instill. In the midst of fighting, he would offer words of reassurance to you, reminding you of your strength and capability. He may even share a brief moment of encouragement or a nod to let her know that he believes in you.
Once the battle with the Marines/pirates is over, Zoro would make sure to check on you. He would provide emotional support, tend to any injuries, and offer words of comfort if needed. Zoro’s dedication extends beyond swordsmanship, and he would strive to make you feel safe and cared for after kicking some butts!

Review: Louis Tomlinson @ The Riverstage (Brisbane)
By Keali Russell
Louis Tomlinson's fans erupted with excitement as he entered The Riverstage in Brisbane for the second night of his Australian leg on the 'Faith In The Future' world tour.
Despite the challenges posed by humidity, rain, and occasional storms, Louis' devoted fans gathered from the early hours, forming bonds over homemade bracelets and forging new friendships as they eagerly awaited the evening's festivities (30 January).
For many, attending multiple shows of his 'Faith In The Future' tour was a cherished tradition, with enthusiasts travelling from various states and even countries to partake in the experience.
Kicking off the night were hometown heroes Safety Hazard, delivering boundless energy to the stage.
From showering the crowd with stickers to introducing their unconventional third member, Sloane the Cone (a charming traffic cone), Safety Hazard left an indelible mark. Their set featured original tracks along with their own interpretation of Britney Spears' 'Toxic'.
Next to take the stage were British rock sensations Sea Girls, whose contagious enthusiasm instantly won over the crowd. With their captivating dance moves and undeniable chemistry, Sea Girls had fans across the venue jumping, dancing, and singing along.
From beloved originals like 'I Want You To Know Me' to 'All I Want To Hear You Say', they held everyone's rapt attention from beginning to end. However, Tomlinson wasn't the sole attraction drawing fans from afar; Sea Girls also had a few loyal supporters journeying from their home country to catch their performance.
After much anticipation, Louis Tomlinson finally hit the stage as deafening screams travelled across the venue as soon as the lights dimmed and the opening chords of his song 'The Greatest' entranced the massive crowd.
There was undeniable mutual adoration between Tomlinson and his fans, evident as he expressed his gratitude to the crowd: "Brisbane, SCREAM! Let me start this gig like I start every gig and say a massive, massive thank you to every person in here for making these gigs happen.
"There's no comparison, this is my best part of the job. I don't get to do all these unbelievable shows without all of you people, so thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Fans were treated to a diverse array of songs from his albums, including 'Copy Of A Copy Of A Copy' and 'Walls', but Tomlinson had some surprises in store for those who had been with him since his One Direction days or hadn't experienced their live performances.
With renditions of tracks like 'Drag Me Down' and 'Where Do Broken Hearts Go', this performance was definitely one they would remember.
The genuine affection Louis holds for his fans shone throughout the night, especially when he expressed his love for them saying: "Every now and then you get one of those gigs where absolutely everything clicks into place. This is one of those gigs!
"I've mentioned a couple of times before, touring is me favourite sh.t! I'm about as far away from home as you can get from home right now, and to be playing shows, not just this atmosphere because that goes without saying at this point, but this kind of scale, this kind of size absolutely blows my f...ing mind!
"This is going to be a special night tonight, I can already feel it. I hope you guys are having as much fun as I am, I love you all!"
Fans had some delightful surprises in store for Tomlinson himself, organising special fan projects to demonstrate their unwavering love and support for him. From illuminating the venue with red lights on their phones during 'Kill My Mind' to creating a breathtaking sea of lights during 'Angels Fly', their thoughtful gestures added an extra layer of magic to an already unforgettable evening.
As he exited the stage preparing for his encore, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. In a spontaneous burst of energy, fans joined together in a rendition of One Direction's beloved anthem 'No Control' followed by the infectious beat of 'Hey Baby' by DJ Ötzi.
Their passionate singing and lively spirits served to amplify the anticipation for what promised to be a thrilling and unforgettable finale to Tomlinson's performance.
As the inevitable moment arrived when the last song was played, Tomlinson wasn't quite ready to call it a night. "Brisbane, this has been absolutely perfect. I don't want it to end! We've got about 90 seconds left, so give me every last bit of energy you've got! Sing this next part with me."
From leaping onto the barrier to join the crowd to staying behind after his performance to take photos with fans, Louis Tomlinson ensured the night was truly unforgettable, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of every single person in attendance.

Chapter 1088: Ethics 101
This write-up is a bit delayed, but I definitely wanted to comment on a few things.
For one thing, Garp’s lesson feels like he’s teaching a philosophy class.
So, that’s probably why it reminded me of Chidi in The Good Place, particularly when he was going over the Trolley Problem. (It’s not an exact replica of the ethical dilemma here but there are similarities.)
Garp gets lectured for telling his proteges to protect the future...
Of course, the Marines declaring “All lives are equal” is downright laughable. These are the people who serve at the whim of the Celestial Dragons, wiped out Ohara, Flevance, and, recently, Lulusia.
They’re also content to sacrifice troops rather than take on an Emperor, so it takes a SWORD Member (Koby) to step in.
It’s interesting that Koby volunteered here; Blackbeard wasn’t actually interested in him in the first place.
Still, the fact that Blackbeard took this deal means Koby’s reputation is widespread. Rocky Port reveal when, Oda?!
Back to the present day, is it weird to say that Garp reminds me a bit of Luffy here?
Luffy has unwavering faith in his nakama. He has people on his crew who can do things he can’t, and he can do things they can’t. Garp here, like his grandson, puts his unmitigated faith in his people--though in this case, it’s more a case of handing the baton to the next generation. We’ve been focusing mostly on the next generation of pirates in the Worst Generation, but this is the next generation of the Marines stepping forward into the limelight.
Once the youngin’s are off, Garp returns his focus to his former protégé.
And all I can think of is Monty Python.
Okay, fine. It’s quite compelling that we’ve got Garp protecting and encouraging his current batch of proteges while facing off against his former protégé in Kuzan. (Kuzan’s line last chapter about Garp raising enemies is still ringing in my ears; that was cold.)
We also get a flashback, learning Koby’s been doing the “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” training montage from Mulan after training.
“You must be swift as the coursing river, with all the force of a great typhoon”
Koby is so wholesome that even his attack has a wholesome name.
Still, this is very impressive. Koby stocks on the rise.
Garp, Grus, and Helmeppo get back to the ship, just leaving Garp remaining on Hachinosu.
Look, I have plenty of issues with Garp, but to his credit here, he’s willing to walk the walk when it comes to saving the future generation over the old generation. He sacrifices himself so they ship can escape.
(Also, what was the point in Tashigi being here? I was really hoping we were going to see Smoker at some point, but nope. She’s just hanging out in the background doing nothing. Yeesh, let the woman do something for once, Oda.)
This looks bad for Garp. It feels like a sendoff, and Garp--a D.--is laughing in the face of death.
I don’t think he’s dead, though. For one thing, this is One Piece where death is made up and the points don’t matter. And the narration box says he’s MIA, which is quite different than some of the other more dramatic descriptions of defeat we’ve gotten in recent chapters.
Second, this is not the first time we’ve seen a D. face death with a smile and survive. (Remember Law’s smirk when Doffy had a gun to his chest on the rooftop in Dressrosa?)
Third, if Saul survived Kuzan’s attack, I’d imagine Garp could, too. I could see the ice here is actually saving him from what looks like an ugly stab wound.
More than that, though, it’s makes little strategic sense to kill him. Blackbeard wants a hostage to bargain with the World Government for Hachinosu’s sovereignty. Garp is a significantly more high-value hostage than Koby; it would not be smart to kill him and lose their leverage when they could use him.
Narrative-wise, there’s also a lot left to settle between Luffy and Garp. And what about Dragon?
There’s so much setup with Hachinosu that we’re definitely going there with the Straw Hats at some point. I still think Luffy and Law team up again now that Law is both crewless and shipless, and if Blackbeard takes the surviving Hearts hostage, that will give the renewed alliance reason to go there. Law would also likely be able to save a frozen Garp using his fruit.
All of that being said, I’m looking forward to returning to Egghead next chapter as the Marines arrive.

Hi! It's 🎸 anon coming in with my first request? Request? Idea? Headcanon? Idk what to call it English is hard :(
BUT! I wanted to ask what your ideas would be for a s/o who is also an instrumentalist, but feels like their skills aren't on par with them and is kinda embarrassed to show them their playing. You can choose the member you'd think is most fit for the role!
[insert cool fluttery ending statement here]
☆彡 sorry this request took me a while to come around to 🎸anon. School has been really busy lately. Thank you for your patience, and I hope you enjoy :) also, I loved this request so I made this ot6 instead of picking a member!
word count: 943 | pronouns used: none | genre: fluff, established relationship | cws: reader is shy about playing/ performing, all caps used, lmk if I missed anything
goo gunil
Gunil strikes me as the type of person to have a HUGE unwavering respect for people who can do things he can’t
I think Gunil would be so so so impressed with your musical abilities
but he doesn’t want to pressure you into playing for him if you don’t feel comfortable doing so
but I can imagine Gunil coming home from work one day and as he walks in the door he hears you playing from the other room
so instead of making his presence known he just stays quiet and listens from outside of the room you’re in
once you’re finished with the piece you’re working on, he would come into the room, making himself known
definitely gives you a round of applause on his way in the door :(
“That sounded great sweetie!! Very well done.”
he would be so proud of you that he almost wouldn’t notice the embarrassed look on your face
“How much did you hear?”
“Not much, but it was amazing! You need to have more faith in yourself, okay? You’re very talented.”
after this, he still doesn’t hear you practice or perform much
but on the rare occasions that he does, he makes sure to let you know how talented you are
kim jungsu
if you don’t want him to hear you practice, Jungsu is locking himself away in another room with headphones on
he doesn’t want to make you feel uneasy
he would probably understand how you feel, seeing how he went from idol training to band training
but deep down inside, he knows you’re doing great
if there’s a day that you finally let him hear you practice or perform he gets SO HAPPY!!!
straight up smiling and giggling the whole time he’s so proud
we all know that big smile he does where his cheeks kinda squish up and he just beams at you
UGH just imagine that face as you approach him after a concert/ performance
“You did great!! I knew your hard work would pay off!”
imagine him giving you flowers after a performance OMGG I love him so much
also hot take: I think Jungsu- like the rest of us band kids- has a thing for concert black. I’ll say it.
kwak jiseok
Jiseok would probably be one to beg to see you play
and he’s coming to you with a deal
“I will play literally any song you want! We can trade! I’ll play for you and you play for me.”
you had to really think about it
but at the end of the day, you love him too much to say no
so you pick a song, and he plays it, and it only makes you feel worse????
“You’re so talented Jiseok. I can’t do anything like that :(“
GASP, CLUTCH CHEST his heart is breaking
he’s your number-one hype boy
“C’mon, baby! You’re so talented!”
but if you really felt too embarrassed he would drop the conversation altogether
he would rather go without hearing you okay than force you to do something you aren’t comfortable doing yet
but if you do take the deal, he’s all ears
no matter how simple your song is, he’s going crazy
“Bravo! Encore!”
“Jiseok please-“
oh seungmin
much like Jungsu, Seungmin knows how it feels to lack confidence in an instrument
unlike Jungsu, I can picture Seungmin being sneaky
“Min, do you mind if I go in the other room and practice for a while?”
“Of course not baby. I’ll stay right here.”
LIAR
he isn’t like Gunil who would just so happen to catch you practicing every now and then
he would be speaking up to your door or dropping what he’s doing and PAYING ATTENTION
he loves it
he thinks you sound great
but you don’t know this
because once he hears you wrapping up and putting your instrument away he is RUSHING back to where he was prior
“How’d it go in there?”
he totally has videos of your playing that he takes from outside the door
if you find them? he better watch out
han hyeongjun
I feel like Hyeongjun- as the resident XH “shy boy”- gets it
if you’re too embarrassed to play for him, that’s fine
performing in front of others can be hard!
but when he finds out the reason
oh his heart
he thinks your playing is amazing!
he’s literally never heard it before but he can feel it in his heart that it’s amazing!
he knows his words won’t convince you to play for him or make your embarrassment disappear
but he does what he can
he knows more than anybody that practice makes perfect
“Did you practice today? How did it go?”
if you specify, that’s great
if you don’t, that’s okay too
moral of the story: he’s probably been in your position, so there’s no need to push yourself into performing any time soon
lee jooyeon
Jooyeon is on his hands and knees begging to hear you play
“(Y/N), I’m gonna go practice a bit. Do you want to join me?”
“Jooyeon, that’s not how that works-“
if he even catches a glimpse of you picking up your instrument he gets excited
he eventually wears you down, and you play the shortest peace you can for him
he’s so attentive and so sweet
he might as well have just watched an orchestra perform
“That was amazing!! You had nothing to be worried about honey.”
if you really felt too embarrassed to play for him he would just ask you to talk about your instrument with him
what are you working on, what are you struggling with, can he help- that type of thing
he just wants to love and support you!

Part 2
You didn’t think you’d ever get used to riding horses for hours at a time. You understood, fundamentally, that they kept you alive when you were outside the walls, but at the same time, you really did not enjoy the constant jolting. It was truly a beautiful day to be outside, no doubt about it, but maybe this was…a little too outside for comfort. The walls had been your home for many years until you joined the Scout regiment. To be completely honest, it had been a bit of a rash choice, a sort of rebellion against the Military Police that terrorized your family.
Your hands gripped the reins with uncertainty. The first time you’d left the walls, all those years ago, you’d been excited. The world felt fresh and new. Now the sky felt like a rotten apple and the people were all the same: excited or nervous recruits and down-trodden experienced soldiers alike. One person caught your eye though.
You looked up from the reins to view the people in front of you. Squad Levi. You were a relatively new addition. You were the newest member until the nuisance known as Eren Jaeger joined. It wasn’t that he was particularly annoying, although sometimes his shouting and monologues about freedom did grate on your ears, it was more that he injured himself a lot. You understood the basic fundamentals of his abilities, like being able to heal considerably quicker than a normal human, and regrowing whole limbs wasn’t out of the question either. Being the designated medic, not by choice, you had made a name for yourself by chasing after any squad members who had the slightest ailment. Eren Jaeger? Well, he had lots of them, and it was considerably more draining.
The others had laughed and thanked Eren for keeping you off their backs. That was only a few weeks ago. Now, here you were. There was always a grimness to the air on these missions. The usually lively squad was dead silent. The beating hooves of the horses pierced the air. It was too quiet, too calm.
Your eyes roved from person to person. You were taking the rear with Eren in front of you. He was just a kid, but he had the stare of someone much older. Next was Petra. She was always a good friend to you. Her smiles and determination brought light into this serious squad. You finally rested your eyes on Captain Levi.
At this moment in time, you were having trouble remembering why you were chosen for this team. Still, he had trust in you and so you would have faith in him in return. It was a mutual sort of arrangement. Going into the Scout regiment, you had known some basic first aid. It was a skill taught by your mother. After hearing about your unwavering interest in the Scout Regiment, she had insisted on teaching you the basics.
“You can’t stop me.” You hissed.
“I know.” Your mother sagged in defeat. “I know you have this–this anger deep inside. I just don’t want you to go into this mess unprepared.” She took your hand and held it firmly. “Let me teach you what I know. I may only be a midwife and I may not be of use to you, but I want you to be of use to others.”
You sat down at the dining table and waited as she fetched her bag of tools.
“And another thing, sweetie,” she whispered as she drew out the needle and thread, “make yourself important, irreplaceable.”
A red flare went off, somewhere to your right. A return green flare to your left.
“Captain.” Eld called out and the Captain glanced at the flares.
“Petra, fire the flare.” He said simply.
“Yes, Captain!” The woman responded quickly and sent off the green flare.
Well, things were getting interesting. There was already a titan so close. It was a little unnerving. You’d seen scouting missions fall apart before and you really did want this to be the exception. Defeat after defeat. The wounds dragged on. Another set of hoofs joined the marching beat.
“Captain Levi, a message!” The new girl shouted as she sidled up to the right of your squad. You observed her carefully. She seemed shaken, but not harmed. The girl was sweating and her hands were gripping the reins too hard to be considered relaxed.
“Report.” The Captain commanded.
“The right side scouting squads have been decimated! There are huge casualties!” The girl cried.
Levi seemed to think for a moment before nodding in the direction of Petra.
“Petra, pass on the message.” He commanded. “And thank you for the report.” He addressed the girl who nodded and fell back, racing towards the right. You saw it now; flares screeching into the sky, puffing black smoke.
“An abnormal this far in?” You wondered aloud and you had been with the team long enough to see the tell-tale signs of distress. Still, Levi remained a statue-like figure. His head barely turned in the direction of the flares.
“The formation has fallen apart. We have no choice but to divert to a more advantageous position.” Levi responded after a short pause. You then sense the shake of the new recruit ahead.
You considered yourself pretty straight-laced and a person who was rather blunt. However, you didn’t exactly lack human compassion, which you speculated that the Captain in front did. It wasn’t that he didn’t care for human life, it was evident that he did based on his role in the regiment, but he didn’t react much to anything. This stone cold expression of his definitely paid off when you asked for his help in the medical ward.
“Hey.” You pulled up next to Eren. His face was downcast and his eyebrows were sinched together. “We’ll find your friends.”
It was a promise that was more than likely false. You had wanted to say that they would be alright, but that was certainly a lie. Eren’s expression was that of a boy who was already imagining his friends dead. You didn’t want to see those thoughts come to fruition, they were children after all, but this world was cruel in the worst ways.
“I told you to stop saying things like that.” Levi spoke and there was something in his vocal fry that made your heart quicken.
“I know, but remember what I said?”
The man thought for a moment and then dipped his head. “Continue.”
A few weeks earlier
Levi had always been a good steady hand and a calming presence. It was probably what first drew you to asking him to assist you after missions. You felt a little guilty asking an already exhausted man to continue to work, but he had agreed. He was rather apathetic but he worked diligently.
“You told that man that he would be okay.” Levi seemed perplexed, truly, as he looked towards the corpse on the ground. “You shouldn’t lie to the dying, so why?”
“I don’t know.” Was your first response. It was something you seemed to say often with the man, but this time you took a moment to ponder his question fully. “I guess when a person is forced to deal with death and the inevitable pain, they need to be told lies to keep themselves sane.” Then you took a deep breath. “In less metaphorical terms, in order to keep them on our side until the end, they need to feel secure.”
Your hands were shaky after long missions or stressful days with lots of patients. The day was just winding down now and it was another heartbreaking loss. Less and less soldiers seemed to come back alive and intact lately. It was mentally and physically draining to care for the wounded, but for some reason, Levi kept coming back. He would hand you the needle and thread and when your eyelids began to droop, he’d finish the job for you. It wasn’t in any gentle or particularly caring way. He’d take the needle and thread, as if commanding you to sleep. But you never could sleep. You’d drift in and out of consciousness sitting on the ground nearby. Tonight was one of those nights.
“Get some sleep.” He said quietly as he finished and fixed your rough stitching job. It had been hurried because the soldier was bleeding quickly. Now, the table was covered in blood and you couldn’t stand looking at his disfigured body any longer. You’d saved his life, but he’d never walk again.
“I can’t sleep on nights like these.” You responded gruffly. You were stubborn and Levi shared this trait.
“I know that, but you need to be able to properly treat people tomorrow. They need your best mind.”
You paused and then frowned, shutting your eyes in thought. “So you save the lives of humanity by getting four hours of sleep, right?”
“I am here to save myself and only myself. I can get by on four hours. You, on the other hand, are stupidly trying to save the lives of all these dying soldiers. It is a pursuit that will lead you nowhere.” He snipped the thread and set his hands down on the table with a heavy sigh. You ignored his scorn for your current occupation and decided to rest your head against the cold stone.
“You say you’re only here to save yourself, and yet you have so little regard for your own life?” You said softly, on your way to dreamland. You heard the soft fabric of his clothes rustle and you felt his gaze slip to your face. The glance was fleeting and warm, but he remained focused on the task at hand.
“There are some people I can not bring back. I should have died with them years ago, and although they want me to lay them to rest, I will continue to cruelly live on in their name. It is purely selfish.” He responded.
You thought on his words for a moment. Levi seemed the opposite of selfish to you.
“Some would call that selfless.” You shrugged before the night took you away.
“My friends.” He was muttering to himself.
“Eren.” You tilted your head down to look him in the eyes. “Don’t worry. We will find them.” You’d probably be finding their bodies and even that would be a miracle. With how close the titan had reached, you doubted a bunch of recruits would be able to stand a chance. “And if they’re injured, you know I’ll fix them right up.” You assured further.
The boy looked away and you took that as your cue to fall back. Still, even if he didn’t fully believe your lie either, it was something to convince himself of. Captain Levi spared you a glance. You went back to dreaming. You day dreamed about what your life could have been like. You imagined a world where titans no longer terrorized humanity. Would you have still chosen the path of medicine if it weren’t needed for your survival? Would you have…fallen in love? Maybe a doctor or a nurse you worked with? Maybe a stranger you’d met at the market? What did all this daydreaming do you anyway. It wasn’t going to change the situation.
“Captain, I hear something.” Oluo shouted.
Levi looked behind him and, of course, everyone else followed suit. There was a thud, but it was faint and seemed so far away. In the distance, behind, was a tiny dot. It was moving at an alarming rate, though.
“Is that–” You started.
“ –the abnormal?” Petra finished as you both stared in horror.
The Captain gave away nothing.
“We continue riding forward.” He insisted and you usually trusted the man but this was absurd. The forest was out of the way and more of a barrier than anything else. It just made no sense. Then it hit you. The useless ODM gear currently strapped to you would become a lethal weapon in the forest.
“Understood.” You replied, but you truly did understand this time.
“Captain! We could have saved them!” Eren screamed as the soldiers zipping through the trees were swatted out of the sky. This titan really was terrifying. You’d never seen one that looked like it before. Despite being at the back of the formation, you remained vigilant in looking straight ahead. You probably trusted a self-appointed “selfish” man far too much.
Eren’s exclamations were becoming more desperate.
“There’s another dead.” The boy cried and it did tug at the heart strings.
“Eren,” You began, “I work with the dead all day, every day.” You felt the listening ears of your teammates, even Levi, especially Levi. “I know their deaths were violent, but they were quick.” You continued and you heard another crunch. God, you were really sick of people dying. You could feel your eyes wetting as the slaughter continued behind you, but you refused to let tears fall. With a steely determination, you stared straight ahead. “It is much better than suffering a slow, painful, death later on a table in a strange room.”
“I agree.” Levi added and your eyes fell on the back of his head. He was so calm and reserved in a time where even Eld was nervous. “Cover your ears.”
You had just enough time to register his words and mindlessly react.
Bang!
For some reason, you saw him watching you as the world exploded in light.
“Did we really capture it?” You asked, waiting for anyone to answer.
“It would appear that way.” Petra murmured.
“You guys leave, switch to ODM gear.” Levi instructed. “Get Eren to HQ as fast as possible.”
“Yes, Sir!” You all replied in unison. You unstrapped the small medical bag from your horse and wrapped it around your shoulders.
The Captain disappeared from sight. You switched to your ODM gear, flying from tree to tree. Everything was moving so quickly and the green of the forest hid most of the sunlight. However, a movement caught your eye.
“The traitor.” You heard Eren hiss. That’s when you saw them. The Scout Regiment logo felt wrong to be displayed on a traitor to humanity.
“Move! Move! They’re closing in!” Eld shouted and you began to weave through the trees.
“Gunther!” Petra screamed and you knew. You knew what happened. Fuck. You didn’t want to see the body of a person you just saw yesterday, but you needed to. You looked back and you acknowledged him. He hung lifelessly, swinging like a pendulum.
“Go! Go! Go!” Eld continued and you followed. It wasn’t your business for heroics.
Then, a flash of yellow light, like lightning striking. You couldn’t hold back a surprised scream now. Shielding your eyes, you felt your hair sizzle and the air pop. Then, like something out of your worst nightmares, the titan was there. She was fast and agile. Her movements were unlike any other titan you’d seen or killed, but you supposed this was unlike any other mission you’d been on.
“I’ll kill her, once and for all.” Eren screamed to Eld as he raised his hand to his mouth.
“Stop!” Your eyes widened and you felt breathless. “Please, just let us handle it. We’re the best, after all.” You tried to reason with him.
“Trust us.” Petra nodded.
Eren looked from you to your squad to the titan. The titan was closing in and you didn’t have much time left.
“Trust us.” You pleaded. If Eren transformed, it put so much at risk. You couldn’t risk him getting taken.
“Okay.” He finally said and you all breathed a collective sigh of relief. He turned and zipped ahead. “I trust you.”
You watched his figure fading into the distance as you and the others began your assault. Eld moved in to distract. The wind was rushing in your ears as you positioned yourself on a tree. You didn’t have quite the kill count as the others, but you understood the basics. Petra and Oluo sliced into the titan’s eyes, causing the monster to stumble back into the tree.
“It’s protecting its nape!” You shouted and you flew in to join the fray. You hooked onto its ligaments and began slicing. The tendons in the arms were gone and the shield on her nape dropped. You hesitated to celebrate as the others looked on in victory. They wanted the killing blow.
After seeing and hearing the cries of all those soldiers she’d killed, you wanted to slaughter her too. You could feel their pain fueling you to push on, even as your gut began to sink. It was just too easy.
“Strike the neck, now!” Eld yelled his war cry and you hooked onto her nape to join him. The female titan lunged. You pulled back with a scream, but Eld was already bit in two. Blood began to stain the grass. No.
“Eld!” You screeched. You watched as his body fell. No medical miracle could bring that back to life. You frantically turned to the others. “We need to regroup!”
“It’s–It’s impossible.” Petra was muttering as she flew away from the titan. “It’s only been 30 seconds or so. That’s just not–”
“Petra!” Oluo warned, but it was too late. Blood splattered on a tree.
“No, no, no.” You whispered as you retreated.
“I’ll kill you.” Oluo went in for the exposed nape. Your eyes widened.
“Wait! Stop!” You shouted, but it didn’t matter. You’d never seen a human kicked that hard or that far, but Oluo was gone on impact, you knew that from the sickening crunch. There was no way. All of squad Levi? Gone?
You landed on the grass. You felt numb as you stared into the face of the titan. Falling to your knees, you looked up to the sky, past where her form blocked the sun. Maybe, in this giant forest, it wouldn’t be such a bad place to die. You’d be with your comrades. You dropped your medical bag and accepted this fate. The female titan stared down at you and then her hand was wrapped around your body. Her grip was so tight, you felt your bones cracking like sticks and now you screamed in agony.
“You killed them!” You were a mess. Tears were running down your face and now you couldn’t breathe. You came face to face with the female titan. Her hair covered her blind eye.
A blinding light and Eren had abandoned the plan. You felt the pressure on your body ease up and then suddenly, you were falling. You had no time to grapple to any trees. You just plummeted to the ground.
The air left your lungs and every breath, every movement, every shake of the ground, hurt. On a scale of 1 to 10? This was a 10. The two titans were fighting and their rumbling moved farther away. You almost wanted to thank Eren. Now, you’d be able to die in peace.
Captain Levi.
The whole squad was wiped out in one go. You didn’t have it in you to sit up, so you lay with your back tucked between the grasses. It wasn’t long after the explosion of light that you noticed a familiar figure flying through the trees.
Levi had come to a stop above Petra’s body. You were in blinding pain, but you needed to get his attention before he left.
“Captain.” You choked out, but for some reason, he heard you. He turned to you and jumped down from the tree. His feet landed softly next to you and he didn’t hesitate to kneel beside your body. His rough, but nimble, hands circled yours. The Captain could have said any number of things, but chose these:
“Do you want to be saved?” It was simple. He was giving you the option to die peacefully with your comrades or be saved. You usually couldn’t read Captain Levi very well, but when you looked at his face, finally, you were taken aback.
Anger. His mouth, set in an ever-present line, was now tilted into a frown. His eyebrows were pushed together ever so slightly and his eyelids dropped into a killer gaze. You had wondered at his emotional capacity for years now, but with this single gaze, you understood him. You understood how he needed to protect himself from the death that surrounded him. You refused to be another comrade that he’d be haunted by at night. Looking at the sky, you realized you had a long life ahead of you. Now was not your time to die.
You had your answer, and it was for, just as he said, purely selfish reasons. You couldn’t muster the energy to move or speak, but your eyes slid over to your fallen medical bag. And now Levi had his answer too. You wanted to say you saw him breathe a sigh of relief, but it was probably an illusion.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be okay.” He parroted your blissful lie as he grabbed the bandages from the bag.
You found the nerve to speak with that comment. “Maybe you were right. Lies don’t help the dying much. We know it’s over.”
“You are not ‘the dying.’” He bit back with a deadly tone. You didn’t flinch. Instead, you wanted to laugh. He finished the wrapping and sat back. “I don’t know what else to do.” He finally admitted.
Your gaze moved to the treetops. Everything was fading and going in and out of darkness.
“Nothing else you can do.” You mustered. “I’m probably bleeding internally. I’ll die before leaving this forest.”
“You will not.” The man said quietly and when he stood, he stared down at you with an incredulous expression. “Why do you accept your death so easily? You will survive and you will live until you are old. Do you hear me, idiot?”
You smiled as your eyes slid closed. “I hear you, Captain.”
A Few Days Later
The last remaining member of Squad Levi. You lifted your hand gingerly and stared at the wrappings. They were clean, fresh. That must be good. You watched the dust particles filtering through the sunlight streaming in. A roof. That was a good sign. You were in a bed. Also a good sign.
“Don’t move.” A harsh voice commanded, but your lips pulled into an easy smile.
“Captain, I wasn’t aware you cared so much.”
“Do you know how hard it is to deal with all those injured scouts when you get yourself injured?” Levi was sitting in an armchair in the corner of the room. His legs were stretched out lazily as he reclined, one hand nursing a steaming teacup. “Don’t do it again.” He took a sip.
“Yes, sir.” You grumbled and dropped your hand. The man got up and moved to the side of the bed, where you could see him better.
“We are now the only members of the Special Operations team.”
You tilted your head back and stared at the wooden beams. What were their last thoughts? Last sight? Probably the forest floor and trees the size of castles. That forest was littered with bodies now. It felt like a terrible nightmare.
“I am hardly special enough for any ‘Special Operations.’” You countered. “Why do you even want me on the team?”
He gave you a blank stare, which was a common occurrence. “Because you were on it before and you’re alive and breathing.” Levi reasoned.
“I think I should switch to being a medical helper instead, full time.”
“Why are you arguing with me, idiot?” He frowned. “You are a part of Squad Levi still and you always will be. That’s how it works here.”
“I could just get myself thrown out.” You chuckled.
“And I’d just argue that you stay, like last time.”
The conversation fell silent. Then you shifted to look out the window. “I care for this team, a lot, but there is no team left.” You sighed. “I guess that only leaves me to care for you, Captain.”
You heard his footsteps and he was now in front of the window, just staring at you. His usually intimidating gaze was gone.
“I wouldn’t have saved you if I didn’t care either.” He stated simply and leaned against the window sill. The light fell so perfectly on his face, highlighting the curve of his mouth, the sharpness of his eyes.
“I would have saved you, too.” You added.
“You would save everyone if you could.”
“And you wouldn’t?”
“I save people I think I can save.” He shrugged. His grip tightened on the edge of the window. “I don’t know why I saved you. I was sure you were going to die, and maybe I should have let you.”
You pressed your lips together. “I’m still glad you lied to me. I will be truthful in saying that I asked you to save me for purely selfish reasons.”
“I guess we have that in common.” The Captain crossed his arms. Your eyes widened and he tilted his head. “Did I say something amiss?”
“No I–” You stopped yourself. “I just didn’t realize you cared.”
“If I didn’t care, why would I spend all those nights with you, fixing up the worst injuries I’ve seen?”
“Because you care about…human life?”
“Because I care about you, idiot.” He said roughly and moved to your bedside. The man took your hand in his and it was eerily reminiscent of the forest. You could almost smell the dirt.
“Maybe I care about you too.” You finally said and he dropped your hand. His face fell back into its usual stone-cold expression. His only acknowledgement was a dip in his head.
“Get some rest.” He said bluntly and headed for the door.
“You as well, Captain.”
He let his hand brush against the door frame for a moment and then left. A fleeting ghost. A vision. You wished you could hold onto his hand for a just a bit longer. It was nice to be in good company.

Though he had begun to grow accustomed to a loneliness broken, there was still a preference to revert back into the safety found within it, a subconscious force of habit that takes him back into solitary labor, ready to disappear into the depth of the wasteland without a word. It's times like these when he's reminded of a stubborn company pleading with him again to take her along, it wasn't another month long trip into the old world that had urged him to leave so abruptly but a scan from his drone that had intrigued him, a refuge of the air-born squad members during the second war with the promise of more info and parts he had been collecting throughout the decades. Unfortunately, it was a contaminated area, none that can affect him as it is not as deep and dangerous as Leviour, but for her, any careless move and she would be turned into another one of them. As expected, a firm no only gave her more reason to want to go with him, he had already refused the proposition many times before, it would only be a matter of time until she sneaks off behind him like she had done with Elektra, it would be better if he had her within his line of sight than to let her wander off &. expose herself to contamination unknowingly. Admittedly, it took a lot of convincing on her part and her physically obstructing his bike so that he doesn't simply drive off. He concedes with a sigh, followed by a long of speech about how crucial it is for her to be careful. A mask of an older model is fitted to her face solely for the clasps in the back to so it remains in place no matter how much she moved, [ checked periodically by him over ten times. ] They arrive at the old camp within an hour's drive, situated in the basement an old building that somewhat stood the test of time. She was not to touch anything as he went through old records and forgotten legacies, broken body parts that could be useful to the people of Xion. ❛❛ Hold on. ❜❜ their exploration halts at a dimly lit table, a basket hanging in the middle was what grabbed his attention, filled with memory sticks of the fallen. A sight that brings a somber touch to his expression. Nonetheless, he proceeds to relieve himself from his shoulder bag momentarily so that he can pack each one into the number of slots within reserved for that purpose.
❛ so why’s it so important anyway? ❜
Curious, he can feel her peeking over his shoulder as he was emptying the basket. The question makes him pause a moment, thinking. ❛❛ Just like us humans, the Andro-Eidos need something to believe in, someone to give them light in the darkest of times. After the squad members are sent to earth they are told that in death they can join Mother Sphere again through their memories, and thus becoming one with her ... though in truth, she abandons them the moment they are deemed as failures. ❜❜ dark gaze settles upon the memory stick in an open palm, fingers carefully brushing off the dust accumulated on the surface. He had seen it before, this unwavering faith in a false God that doesn't love them, left to waste away all alone in oblivion. A devastating realization he had saw in Raven's eyes when he had found her broken and battered close to the nest, it's that false love that filled her with so much hatred, he regrets not being able to remedy it. ❛❛ No one from the Colony would come to collect them, there's no means of contact there anyway. Once the members are sent to earth they remain cut off until they accomplish their mission. I've seen it many times and yet ... ❜❜ he sighs, ridding himself of his melancholy with a shake of the head. ❛❛ This is what the presence chamber is for, it may not be the end they were hoping for, however, they can be preserved there all together as one just like they wanted. It's ... the least that can be done. ❜❜
@sentinalle // scavenging trip with dottir !

Last round of Head Witches! Those present for the Incident at Hexside!
Adrian Graye Vernworth - The charming Head of the Illusions Coven! Adrian fancies himself a superstar and definitely feels entitled to everything that entails. He loves to talk about his (completely untrue) rags-to-riches story and generally talk about himself. He's the one with the starring role, after all.
He demonstrates a remarkable mastery of illusion magic to dazzle and confuse the senses. He's able to control an absolutely astonishing number of illusions at one time, a feat that he's quick to utilize.
His completely self-absorbed nature causes him to butt heads with pretty much all of the other Head Witches. He views himself as their superior in pretty much every way. He has a bitter rivalry with Vitimir and the two are always looking to one-up each other. Also, he'd never admit it but he is absolutely terrified of Hettie.
------------------------
Darius Deamonne - The haughty Head of the Abominations Coven. He's an incredibly fastidious witch who is known far and wide for his trendsetting looks and awe-inspiring power. For Darius, everything has its place and he very much prefers to keep things neat an orderly. Many have attempted to comment on how little since it makes for someone obsessed with tidiness to be an Abomination Witch but, like, they just don't get it.
He has an unparalleled degree of control over Abomination magic, even able to steal control from someone else's Abomination. Most impressive however is his ability to transform his body into an Abomination. He's not merely hiding inside the goop, he actually becomes it. In this form he's incredibly strong, fast and durable. Being made of the squishy material means that most attacks pass harmlessly through him. However the form does have a few weaknesses...
Among his peers Darius doesn't seem to get along with anyone, aside from an utterly inexplicable bond he has with Eberwolf. And he rather prefers for things to appear that way. As a member of the Rebellion, he is fast friends with Raine Whispers. He has nothing but unwavering faith in the Bard and fully believes that they are the key to moving things forwards.
Outside of his peers, Darius comes across as incredibly unapproachable and, as a result, he has very few connections. Having trained under a previous Golden Guard, he definitely has his eyes on the new one. Though he's totally unsure of how to proceed on that front. Also he's recently found some respect for the Blight kids and their friends.
------------------------
Hettie Cutburn - The implacable Head of the Healing Coven. I already made a post talking about Hettie's origin in more detail. She was born blind and with high expectations on her. She's always loved gore and viscera and anything that she can get her hands on which led her to a fervent passion for Healing Magic! (Particularly odd or gruesome surgeries are what truly make her happy.)
In spite of her interests she's become a very powerful and respected Healer who many view as saintly for the many life-saving procedures she's performed, even hailed as a miracle worker by some.
Her peers all know her better than that though. Those who don't fear her outright are wary of her and that's exactly how she likes it. The only exception is Terra who doesn't fear her, she simply looks down on the Healer for her disability. That makes her the only one Hettie truly hates instead of merely dislikes.
Her mastery of Healing Magic and the precision with which she wields it are absolutely unmatched. She can speed up her own healing processes to the point that her wounds close nearly instantly and her knowledge of anatomy enables her to very swiftly and efficiently remove threats.
She's trained herself to sense magic to compensate for her lack of sight and it makes it quite difficult to escape her. However, her dependence on it means that those with very weak or no magic are able to sneak up on her.
Sitting at the top of her craft for so long has left her bored. She's looking for a new thrill and in the halls of Hexside she found some very interesting witches...

Look, I'm a sucker for Batman and Jason Todd eating burgers on the hood of the Batmobile. I'm also a sucker for Jason and Artemis' being Bizzaro's protective older siblings. While all of that is true, the loss of "Red Hood, the Crime Lord" is something that should be acknowledged.
Jason Todd and Bruce Wayne making up and developing a relationship is an undeniably cathartic character growth arc for both characters. I myself I'm a huge fan of the bat family tags here on Tumblr. A set of people that have gone through their own individual hells that still found their way together as a found family, it's a very sweet story that I enjoy. Jason's role as one of the eldest siblings who has been through hell is a great role for him too. When the other members of the family go through hard times, Jason is the one who is able to best associate with them in their darkest moments. He's been there, he was there first, and he didn't come out of it gracefully like Dick Grayson did. Jason's demons tainted him, yet he still came out of it trying to make the world a better place. That's why he's such a good character. It's not because he's a killer. It's because him having character flaws due to is trauma makes deeply relatable.
A positive character development that I hope they carry forward with Jason Todd is his unwavering faith in people that others have deemed not worth the effort. The Amazons see Artemis as too aggressive. Green Arrow wrote Roy Harper off completely due to being an addict. Superman effectively refuses to acknowledge the existence of his disabled clone brother Bizzaro. Jason has taken all of these people in and treated them like they were worth the effort to get to know and to help. In spite of my problems with the current characterization of Jason Todd's competency level in relation to the rest of the bat family, Jason's willingness to invest in outcasts is by far the most powerful piece of characterization Jason has had, and should be carried forward.
The issue I have is with the "meta-influence" that transitioning characters like Jason Todd from villain to antihero has. In the under the red hood storyline, Jason Todd had been active in Gotham City for some time. He only came on Bruce's radar once Red Hood started actively antagonizing him. The implication there is that Red Hood is aggressively competent. During this time, Red Hood is shown to almost be a match for Batman himself. If we compare that time to the modern era, we have multiple examples of Bruce and Jason getting into fights and Jason getting the living shit kicked out of him. That loss of competency is disrespectful to the character. Within the bat family, it is largely accepted that Cassandra is the most dangerous person in the family. Based on Red Hood's history though, The fact that Jason isn't looked at with the same gravity as Cass, is a straight up plot hole.
Anyways. I had thoughts with no where to put them, so now this post exists. Haha. If you read this far, you have my thanks.

Jeremiah "Red" Hall | 28
I am your death, I am the crucifix

Backstory CW: anti-christianity, child abuse
Faith had never held any positive connotation for Jeremiah.
Born as a bastard child, he never recognized the man that raised him as his father. His mother was unable to care for him any more than she felt guilty for giving birth to him. Jeremiah’s religious family made it clear that he was an unwelcome presence in their lives.
Even his physical appearance became a source of ridicule and contempt for those around him. His red hair and violet eyes were considered unnatural and disturbing, and he was often subjected to cruel comments and taunts from the more conservative members of his community.
At the age of twelve, Jeremiah had a violent argument with his drunken father, resulting in a horrifying punishment that left a crucifix scarred into his face with a piece of broken glass. This traumatic event led to his departure from that nightmare of a household, growing a disgust for Christianity and any associated moral codes.
With nowhere else to turn, Jeremiah took to the streets, becoming a skilled pickpocket and thief, remorselessly resorting to violence when necessary. At fourteen, he was inducted into a gang led by a man who relied too much on faith for his liking. But he stayed with them because they offered him protection and taught him valuable outlaw skills, like persuasion and how to use a gun.
Ever since the beginning, Jeremiah was aware of the cult-like behavior and controlling nature of the gang, and he knew he had to leave at some point. He waited until he turned seventeen and then made his move, leaving behind the only family he had ever known and striking out on his own once again. He grew out his hair to help cover his scar, but this only drew more attention to his copper locks. Rather than trying to hide who he was, he decided to embrace his unique features and adopt the nickname Red as a way of proudly announcing his nature to the world, rejecting the biblical name given to him.
As he aged, Red became more conscious of the hypocrisy of the Christians he knew and the absurdities committed by the Catholic Church. Determined to make a difference, Jeremiah turned to bounty hunting, a profession that allowed him to strike back at the very individuals he despised most. He relished the chance to eliminate detestable targets and take a stand against the corrupt establishment that had done him so much harm.
With his new moniker and reputation as a ruthless bounty hunter, Red became a feared and respected figure in the underworld. He reveled in the power that came with his newfound notoriety, but he also knew that it came with a price. He was constantly on the lookout for those who might try to take him down, and he never let his guard down for a moment.
When pursuing targets, Red wears a goat skull mask adorned with a painted pentagram, as well as an upside-down cross pendant. Both symbols of his anti-Christian beliefs and his unwavering motivation for seeking revenge. Red was determined to make a name for himself, one that would strike fear into the hearts of those who dared to cross his path.
